Best Life Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine is a physical-therapist-owned outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine practice serving the Hampton Roads area with four locations.

We are looking for a reliable, dependable, and personable Patient Care Coordinator to join our Potters Road location on a part-time basis.

This position is an important part of our patient experience. Our front office team is often the first and last point of contact for our patients, so we are looking for someone who takes pride in being dependable, organized, professional, and welcoming.

What You'll Do

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will help keep the front office running smoothly while providing an excellent experience for our patients.

Responsibilities include:

Checking patients in and out for appointments
Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
Answering and managing a multi-line phone system
Collecting patient payments
Gathering, entering, and processing insurance information
Assisting with day-to-day front office operations
Communicating professionally with patients, therapists, and other team members
Maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA requirements
Providing friendly, professional, and compassionate customer service
Helping create an organized and welcoming environment for every patient who walks through our doors

Be comfortable interacting with patients from a wide variety of backgrounds
Have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Be able to learn new tasks quickly with minimal supervision
Be able to adapt when priorities change
Have strong written communication skills, including proper grammar and punctuation
Maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information
Demonstrate excellent customer service and public relations skills
Approach patients and coworkers with patience, professionalism, and respect

Experience

Previous medical office, healthcare, insurance, scheduling, or administrative experience is preferred but not required.

We are willing to train the right person. What we cannot teach as easily is reliability, accountability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

Attendance & Schedule Expectations

This is a part-time position with a consistent set schedule.

The required schedule is:

Monday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Tuesday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Thursday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Applicants must be able to consistently work all of the hours listed above.

Because we are a small healthcare practice, every member of our team plays an important role in keeping the clinic running and caring for our patients.

Reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.

If you are looking for occasional or unpredictable part-time hours, this position may not be the right fit.
